Working in a the language of art is a delicate process in that it demands the courage and vulnerability to commune with the nuance of daily life. The way I see it, art as education and inspiration remains undervalued and perhaps even cheapened in the social media age. To honestly portray the people doing this important work is my highest honor.

Accompanying a medical mission trip, I savored the opportunity to document what existed on the fringes of the job. As an American, my perspective of Mexico up to this point revolved around beach towns and big cities. But up in the mountains with pastors and dentists, I was presented with another perspective entirely. Turns out the best eloté is in foggy mountain Mexico. I found the people to be open and kind — and the kids the same as they are anywhere: sweet, curious, annoying. There is earnestness in the gaze of these people; content in their poverty and perhaps dreaming of something immaterial.

Hopping in the tour van, with good friends making good music, just felt right. Most of these photos were taken on a west coast tour of sold out shows in which Motel Radio was supporting Summer Salt.

Numerous events at MML's beautiful Hotel Saint Vincent in the Lower Garden District of New Orleans. Assigned to capture the leisurely atmosphere and eclectic vibe of the celebratory opening weekend as well as a number of local performances, dinners, and parties throughout the year.
